Moderna para Sempre.
Fotografia Modernista Brasileira na Coleção Itaú

Fundação Iberê Camargo. Porto Alegre
June - July 2018

The Iberê Camargo Foundation presents until July 15 the photographic exhibition Moderna para Sempre. Fotografia Modernista Brasileira na Coleção Itaú, curated by the photographer and researcher Iatã Cannabrava.
The exhibition counts 144 works of modernist photographers and is a reprint of the eponymous exhibition that was exhibited in the Margs in 2010 and since then circulated by Brazil and the Exterior.
The number of works was increased from 86 to 144, highlighting four recent acquisitions of Itaú's collection: Florale, by Geraldo de Barros, Oca, Ibirapuera Park by German Lorca, and Composition and Untitled by Mario Fiori. In all, 33 artists - mostly members of Foto Cine Clube Bandeirante, such as Eduardo Salvatore, Thomaz Farkas, José Oiticica Filho, Marcel Giró and Ademar Manarini - are represented.
The thematic unit of the works portrays urban scenes and the search for forms from various creative resources, such as textures, backlighting, sober frames, lines, solarizations, photomontages, frames.
